Dude, you did good, you really did. But you got a little too close to me when you were singing into the mike.

So, I'm typing this while my husband is doing the dishes.  I just thought I'd brag a bit.  My calling in my ward is Relief Society secretary.  In addition to taking meeting notes and printing sign-up sheets, I have taken on the project of putting together gifts for the Laurels that will be soon joining us in Relief Society.  When I took on this job I asked if they wanted me to make a card to go with the gift.  Of course there was a resounding "yes."  Here's what I came up with (thanks Pinterest):

I think they turned out pretty good!  You can't say you didn't expect something as least a little ridiculous from me.  The presents themselves turned out pretty cute:

What Laurel wouldn't be excited to get this bundle of joy?

It's disturbing to me on several levels, including the fact that I can’t remember the last time I cleaned the floor of the bathroom!

Jeremy and I love the weekends, especially Saturdays.  We love being able to do what ever we want.  Our typical Saturday usually consists of us laying around in our pajamas until late afternoon.  Today was no exception.  Tonight for dinner I wanted to make something super easy.  Why would I want to ruin this perfectly lazy Saturday by cooking up some big meal?  I decided to make one of our favorite dinner meals, which just happens to be one of the easiest meals ever.  It was definitely a win-win situation.  I made stir fry! The best thing about stir fry is you can basically throw in whatever you want and it works.  Here is the recipe I usually use when I make this delightful meal:

Nicole's Stir Fry
(4 servings)

2 chicken breasts
1/2 box of thin spaghetti noodles
1/2 bottle of teriyaki stir fry sauce
some sesame oil
some Sriracha (spicy chili sauce)
1 clove of garlic
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 bag of frozen veggies
1 can of water chestnuts

In a large pot cook noodles.  While noodles are cooking saute chicken in sesame oil, a bit of stir fry sauce, a bit of Sriracha, and garlic.  Once chicken is cooked add veggies and water chestnuts with some more stir fry sauce, Sriracha, and lemon juice.  Cook until veggies are tender.  Add noodles when they are cooked.  Add the rest of the stir fry sauce, and some Sriracha to taste.  Once everything is warm it is ready to eat.

There are a lot of other things you could add to stir fry.  You could use different meat.  You could also add, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, ginger, cumin, etc.  You could also use rice instead of noodle.  Just cook the stir fry, and the rice separately.  When it's time to eat dish up some rice in the bottom of your bowl then throw some stir fry on top!

I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it.

I love the first weekend in April.  The reason why is that I get to sit and listen to God's living prophets and apostles.  Here are some quotes from the last conference that was on the first weekend of October:

There is some great wisdom and advise to be had.  It is such a blessing to know that there are men and women on this earth that are mouthpieces of the Lord.  If you are interested in hearing from them, they speak again tomorrow.  Just click on this link: LDS Conference April 2013

Sick people freak me out.

Today I got to hang out with this little guy:

As we (my mom, 2 sisters, cute nephew, and I) were driving to lunch, Cute Guy started to cough, which caused him to throw up.  I'm not talking about a little throw up, I'm talking three sessions right in a row.  It was all over the poor kid.  Luckily it all landed on him and the car seat, but he was quite upset and confused about the whole ordeal.  We pulled over to the side of the road, and got him cleaned up the best we could with baby wipes.  Luckily, we weren't far from his house.  We drove up to their apartment, washed him, his clothes, and his car seat up.  Once we could tell that he was doing all good we headed back out to lunch.  For the rest of the afternoon when we put him back in his car seat he would exclaim, "I puked!"  Poor kid, I think he'll be scarred for a bit.  Rylee, however, may be scarred for life.  I think she was about as traumatized as he was (she was the lucky one sitting next to him after all).

I think internships are a Communist plot.

Today was my first day of Spring Break.  To celebrate I headed down to St. George to hang out with my family for a couple of days.  One of my favorite things to do when I visit home is to go run errands with my mom.  Today she took me to a Habitat for Humanity Restore.

I had heard about Habitat for Humanity, but I had never heard of their Restores.  Basically they are stores where businesses, schools, people, etc.  donate their old stuff, and they resell it.  This place had some pretty cool stuff.  It had a bunch of old furniture, building supplies, and other nick-nacks.  I was super jealous that St. George had one of these stores, but come to find out there is one in Orem and Salt Lake.  There are more all over the country, and in Canada!  Here's a short video about the stores and how they help Habitat for Humanity.  Check it out if there is one close to you!
